Jim Scarborough
Jim Scarborough was born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and lives in Austin, Texas, with his dog Zeus. He can be found performing with both his band and as a solo act.
His joy for writing poetry led to a natural transition into songwriting. As a college student, Jim was offered $100 to perform three sets at a local music club. The revelation that he could play music AND get paid for it made a strong impression on him and he worked even harder at pursuing his passion for writing songs and performing.
Upon graduation, Jim moved to Hollywood, CA and started his band "Jim Scarborough and the Road Scholars". The band did well on the local Hollywood music circuit and was written up in Billboard magazine as an “Up and coming” act in Los Angeles. The band was together for three years and enjoyed major label interest, but broke up when Jim decided to move to Austin in 1991 to pursue music and live in an environment more suited to his liking.
Utilizing the talents of special guest stars such as The Green Cards, The Tosca String Quartet, Robbie Gjersoe (The Flatlanders) and Dave Sebree, Jim has 3 albums to his credit.
