Chris Maresh

Grammy® Award nominated composer and bass player Chris Maresh began his professional music career in Austin, Texas in 1984 after receiving a BM in Applied Double Bass with emphasis in Jazz Performance from the University of Texas at Austin. He has explored many musical styles and has performed and recorded jazz, classical, rock, country, salsa, tango, and folk music. Currently, Chris divides his time between recording, live performances, and touring in the US, Europe, Asia and Australia.

Chris' performing career has included: live performances with Bonnie Raitt (1997, 2003,2004); Michael McDonald and Pat Simmons of the Doobie Brothers (2004); Willie Nelson (2004); David "Fathead" Newman (2004) large ensemble work with Ellis Marsalis (1998) and the Austin Symphony (1996); the Lardeo Symphony (2003); tours with Eric Johnson (2001, 2003, 2004), and Abra Moore (1998); Kelly Willis (2002) and Monte Montgomery (1997-2003). He is a sought after session player in Austin, where he has recorded with many local and visiting artists, including Grammy® winner Eric Johnson (with whom he appears in the DVD of Eric Clapton's "Crossroads" Festival) and Grammy® nominee Marcia Ball (2003). Chris played on the soundtracks of "Spy Kids 2" and "Once Upon a Time in Mexico", and on music which appeared in "Michael", "Happy Texas", and "Sliding Doors".
